Live Workshop
The 50mm Prime Lens

March 15th
Monday, 19:00 to 20:45

AEDT + GMT + EDT

Learn about the advantages of shooting with a 50mm prime lens and what this popular and relatively cheap lens can offer your photography.

A prime lens has a fixed focal length and so no zoom feature and is the first prime lens a lot of people add to their camera bag.

We shall be looking at this style of photography, with some still shooting mostly with a 50mm prime lens; and how it can add to your photography skills.

Live Workshop
Black & White Photography

March 22nd
Monday, 19:00 to 20:45

AEDT + GMT + EDT

Create compelling images and start to see the world in monochrome, shades of grey from black to white, removing the distraction of any colour.

Surprising to many in these days of colour, that black and white photography still holds a vast following in the days of digital photography.

Besides shooting black & white images, we shall also be working in varying tones of a single colour and sometimes perhaps just adding a touch of a single colour!

Live Workshop
Macro/Close Up Photography

March 29th
Monday, 19:00 to 20:45

AEDT + BST + EDT

Take a step into the fasinating and alien world that can be found all around us, by getting in real close to shoot everyday items.

From nature to man-made, we start with a basic camera set up and see what can be achieved, before looking at what additional kit options there are.

Live Workshop
Pinhole Photography

April 5th
Monday, 19:00 to 20:45

AEST + BST + EDT

Capture images in the most authentic way, accessing near infinite depth of field where everything appears in focus. The camera obscura effect.

A great way to create a unique look, working with very long exposure times. A very simple and extremely cheap piece of kit that you can also make yourself and your ready to join in!

Live Workshop
Astrophotography

April 12th
Monday, 19:00 to 20:45

AEST + BST + EDT

Get started recording images of the world above, the night sky, with only entry level equipment and a basic understanding of the cameras ISO setting.

We consider the main elements of, focus, long exposures and image processing, using an entry level camera and progressing to add additional items to improve our capabilities to record 'upstairs'.

Live Workshop
35mm SLR Photography - Black & White Film

April 22nd
Thursday, 19:00 to 20:45

AEDT + GMT + EDT

Try something 'new' with something old - a 35mm film camera 'analog' photography. Film and digital photography can complement each other, a stylistic choice.

Move past the stigma of gear and enjoy more basic tactile form of photography. Plenty of film cameras around either free or for a very low price if you have to buy and can not borrow one.

Workshop Repeats

There is no plan to re-run these live workshops in the future and to offer courses on each of the subjects.

Workshop Times

The on-line workshops are held in a private Zoom meeting room and take place three times, starting at 19:00 (7:00 pm).

This is for the three time zones of AEST/AEDT; GMT/BST; and EST/EDT.
Allowing you to choose a time that best suits you.
